Domestic Abuse

Domestic Abuse comes in all shapes and sizes, from verbal abuse and bullying to physical abuse and even death. If you're in an abusive relationship, you don't have to be. Get out, get help, while you can. If you search our site and can't find what you need, use our contact page. We will try to help.

Verbal or Emotional Abuse

Belittling, countering and correcting, abusive jokes, withholding, side-tracking and shutting down, transferring blame, faultfinding, intimidation, insulting and labeling, selective memory, commanding, lashing out--these are all types of verbal abuse. Verbal abuse, sometimes called emotional abuse, is often minimized but can leave deep and lasting scars. Bullying is a form of verbal/emotional abuse and is often accompanied by physical abuse.

Domestic Violence or Physical Abuse

Domestic violence can happen to anyone regardless of size, gender, or strength. Physical assault or battering is a crime, whether it occurs inside or outside of the family. The police have the power and authority to protect you from physical attack. Sexual abuse is a form of physical abuse. Any situation in which you are forced to participate in unwanted, unsafe, or degrading sexual activity is sexual abuse.

Verbal Abuse

The effects of verbal abuse, emotional abuse, and bullying last long after the words are out, often much longer than physical abuse. Not everyone realizes the words that hurt them are considered verbal abuse. It's insidious; it's cruel. Stop verbal abuse.

Physical Abuse

Physical abuse can be debilitating, not only to the person who is abused, but to the rest of the family that has to watch. If you think your children aren't suffering, think again. Stop domestic abuse.
